Following months of planning and a week of digging, 17 men were set to drop in for the 25th anniversary of Red Bull Rampage in the Utah desert. Instead, extreme weather forced organisers to cancel the remainder of the men’s competition mid-competition after only a handful of riders were able to complete their runs.
Red Bull stated that the decision was made with the safety of riders, fans, and staff as the top priority. Conditions on the mountain quickly deteriorated with gusty winds, rain, and spotty showers, making it impossible to continue or reschedule for the following day. Because not all men were able to get a first run in, there will be no results for 2026.
Barber Defends Decision Against Moving Event to Friday
Following the cancellation, online critics questioned why the event could not have been rescheduled to run a day earlier on Friday. Barber noted that a similar schedule change in 2015 upset the athletes.
Standout Runs Before the Cancellation
Before the weather halted the event, several competitors posted memorable runs. Szymon Godziek earned a score of 90 for a run featuring a double-drop to canyon gap and a no-fall-zone chute, placing him first before the competition was called off. Godziek noted, I’m lucky my first run went well, and I was ready to go up again and add more stuff into my run.
Jaxson Riddle performed a run featuring 10 different features, including an indian air seat grab and a backflip suicide no-hander. Meanwhile, rookie Kade Edwards earned the Best Style award for a run that included an impromptu nose manual and a no-foot can. The athlete-voted McGazza Spirit Award was presented to Carson Storch, who supported the rider field after crashing during his first run.

Event History
According to Barber, this is the first time in 20 years that Red Bull Rampage has had to cancel due to weather.
