Heavy Crash in Varna Region Takes One Life; Five Injured

A serious crash near Varma, Bulgaria, left one person dead and five injured on Thursday afternoon. The incident occurred around 13:00 near the village of Goriça, involving three light vehicles.

According to initial reports, one of the vehicles crossed into oncoming traffic and collided with the other two. Nova TV reported that a woman died at the scene, while five others were transported to hospital for treatment.

The crash has temporarily restricted traffic on the I-9 highway between Varna and Burgas in the vicinity of Goriça, with traffic Police diverting vehicles on an alternative route via Star Orehovo, Dolni Chiflik, and Aitos.

In a separate incident, two women were hospitalized after a car hit a tree on the road between Shumen and Veliki Preslav. The collision, which occurred around 13:40, involved a 47-year-old man driving a Kia car who lost control and struck the tree.

The two injured women, aged 46 and 42, were traveling in the same vehicle and were taken to the Multi-profile Active Treatment Hospital in Shumen for medical treatment and observation. Investigations into both incidents continue.
