In a shocking turn of events, the Razlog Prosecutor’s Office is currently investigating the sudden death of a 6-year-old boy in the Razlog Municipality of Blagoevgrad, Bulgaria. The parents of the deceased child, identified as R.C. and N.O., were residing in an apartment in the town.
Around 4:00 PM on January 4, 2025, the father returned home. At that time, his son was in the bedroom using a mobile phone, while the mother was in the living room. The father lay down next to his son and fell asleep. About an hour and a half later, the man woke up and found his son motionless with one leg discolored, according to the press release from the Razlog District Prosecutor’s Office.
The father attempted to revive his son and then transported him to the Razlog Emergency Medical Center in a neighbor’s car. Unfortunately, the boy was pronounced dead at the medical facility.
During the course of the investigation, authorities conducted an on-site inspection at the family’s home but found no signs of violence. A judicial autopsy and medical examination have been ordered, and preliminary findings suggest that the boy’s death was caused by brain and lung edema.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing, and the Razlog Territorial Directorate is overseeing the pre-trial proceedings.
