Trump Confirms Plans for Meeting with Putin

Trump‘s Plan to End Ukraine War, Meet Putin

President-elect Donald Trump revealed his plans to end the war in Ukraine and meet with Russian leader Vladimir Putin during a press conference at his Mar-a-Lago residence. "Putin wants us to meet," Trump stated, "and we’re working on making it happen."

Trump, who will assume the presidency on January 20, expressed his desire to halt the Ukrainian conflict. "It’s a bloody mess. Soldiers are dying on both sides," he added, stressing the need for a diplomatic solution. He plans to bring Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenski to the negotiation table once he’s in office.

Trump’s past relations with Putin have drawn criticism from Democrats, who argue he’s shown sympathy towards the Russian leader and hasn’t done enough to investigate Russian interference in the 2016 U.S. elections. Trump has refused to acknowledge any wrongdoing.

Putin has publicly expressed his willingness to meet with Trump, but no formal plans have been announced. The Ukrainian war, which began in 2014, has led to over 13,000 deaths and millions displaced.
