President Donald Trump returned to Mount Rushmore on Friday, July 4, 2026, according to CNN.
The president has suggested adding his likeness to the national monument, a move he has described as a “good idea” and a “dream,” CNN reported. While Interior Secretary Doug Burgum stated there is “certainly” room for Trump’s face, the monument’s original sculptor, Gutzon Borglum, wrote in 1936 that it would likely be impossible to include a fifth head due to the stone’s structural limitations, according to CNN.
In other recent actions, President Trump pardoned 11 people on Friday, including nine individuals convicted of bypassing vehicle emissions control systems and a former business partner of lobbyist Jack Abramoff, AP News reported.
Financial disclosures indicate that Trump collected billions of dollars last year through property investments, royalty payments, and cryptocurrency holdings, according to CNN.
