Turkish President Erdogan Aims for ‘New Era’ in Ukraine by 2025, Calls War’s End a Priority
Article:
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has expressed hope for a "new era" to commence in the north, as he designated the conclusion of the war in Ukraine as a top priority for his administration by 2025.
In a recent video address, Erdogan stated, "Our priority remains ending the war between Russia and Ukraine, our neighbors in the Black Sea, with a fair peace. We hope to see a new era begin in our north by 2025."
Previously, Erdogan had criticized the U.S. for granting the Ukrainian military the green light to strike Russian territory using ATACMS missiles. He believed this move would only escalate the conflict further and potentially provoke an even stronger response from Russia.
The Turkish president also responded to Russia’s newly adopted nuclear doctrine. He criticized it as a measure against conventional weapons and called for NATO leaders to reassess the development. Despite this, Erdogan emphasized the importance of preserving Turkey’s bilateral relations with both Ukraine and Russia. He advocated for an swift ceasefire and the achievement of peace.
