Two Dead, Eighteen Injured as Small Plane Crashes into Furniture Factory in California

In a tragic incident, two people lost their lives and eighteen others sustained injuries when a small plane crashed into a furniture factory in the southern Californian city of Fullerton on Tuesday afternoon. The plane, a four-seater Van’s RV-10, came down around 14:30 local time as it approached the city’s airport.

According to police, the plane tore through a section of the factory’s roof where around 200 employees were working at the time. The company manufactures upholstered furniture. The plane’s pilot had reportedly radioed in, saying they would be making an emergency landing moments before the crash.

The identities of the deceased and their status as either plane occupants or factory workers remain unknown. The plane is a kit-built aircraft, which can be assembled by owners from a pre-built kit. Fullerton, with a population of approximately 140,000, is situated about 40 miles southeast of Los Angeles.

Emergency services evacuated nearby businesses as they responded to the incident. The cause of the crash is currently under investigation.
