Ukraine Transforms Civilian Aircraft into Long-Range Kamikaze Drone
Ukrainian specialists have successfully converted a civilian light aircraft into a heavyweight kamikaze drone, capable of carrying a powerful payload and flying over 1,000 km, according to German publication Bild, reported by Censor.NET. This drone, despite its large size, presents a challenging target for Russian air defense systems due to its unique design features.
The drone is equipped with a low-thermal, inconspicuous engine that doesn’t heat up like most missiles, making it difficult to detect with Russian radar systems. It also uses specialized film for radiofrequency protection and flies at low altitudes and speeds, further evading enemy systems.
This kamikaze drone has proven particularly effective in striking Russian territory. One notable incident involved an attack on a Shahed drone production plant in Tatarstan, over 1,200 km from Ukraine. It has also been used in attacks on Russian targets in Grozny and other regions far from the Ukrainian border.
While some weaknesses, such as limited availability, have been identified through video analysis, the drone’s ability to execute deep-strike operations remains high.
