Ukrainian Forces Strike Russian 810th Marine Brigade HQ in Kursk

In a significant military operation, Ukrainian forces have targeted the headquarters of the Russian 810th Separate Marine Brigade in the town of Льгов, Kursk region, Russia. The strike was confirmed by both the Strategic Communications Directorate of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (StratCom) and independent media outlet Meduza.

"In the early hours of today, Ukrainian forces launched an attack on the 810th Marine Brigade’s command post, which was housed in an abandoned civilian building in the town of Льгов," StratCom stated on its Facebook page. This operation is part of the ongoing effort to degrade the Russian military’s ability to coordinate operations against the Ukrainian people.

Days after the strike, details of the damage are beginning to emerge. According to the Head of Ukraine’s Center for Countering Disinformation, Andrei Kovalenko, the attack inflicted casualties among the Russian military’s officer ranks. Meanwhile, Russian Telegram channels, citing the acting governor of Kursk region, report civilian casualties from the strike.

The 810th Marine Brigade, part of the Russian Navy, has seen heavy action in the conflict, particularly during the battles in eastern Ukraine and the Sievierodonetsk area. This strike is the latest in a series of setbacks for the Russian military, which has been grappling with logistical and coordination issues throughout the conflict.
