Russian Advance Near Pокровsk; Ukrainian Counterattacks Repel Forces
In recent days, Russian troops have pushed southward from Pокровsk, inching closer to the administrative borders of the Donetsk region. However, military analysts suggest that the offensive around Kurakhovo seems to be losing momentum.
Concurrently, fighting on the outskirts of Pокровsk remains subdued, with the most intense clashes occurring on its flanks. Russian forces have managed to advanced westward by about 20 kilometers but have yet to breach its defensive lines significantly. Despite Russia’s claims of capturing the strategic town of New Voglevka, Ukrainian forces continue to maintain a presence there.
The captured village of Novoselivka, located to the south of Pокровsk, lies on the main road to the strategic city ofAdministrative Units. Ukrainian military officials confirm that Russian troops are within five kilometers of the village.
Russia’s strategy appears to be focused on isolating and encircling Ukrainian forces in Pокровsk by attacking from multiple directions. Analysts warn that the capture of this city could provide a significant boost to Russia’s prospects in the war.
