Title: Ukrainian Band Cuts Ties with Musician Over Alarmist Instagram Posts
A popular Ukrainian music group has publicly distanced itself from one of its members following a controversial series of Instagram posts. The band, Burned Time Machine, has denounced the statements made by Miroslav (Mirosblack), stressing that they do not align with their values or stance on the ongoing conflict.
In a recent declaration, the group expressed their dismay and disappointment, stating, "We are hurt and ashamed by Miroslav’s statements. We do not support his calls for unlawful actions or threats against the TCK representatives." Burned Time Machine reiterated their longstanding support for the Ukrainian Armed Forces and volunteer efforts.
Burned Time Machine has announced they will no longer collaborate with Miroslav, asserting, "Our group should not be held responsible for actions and views we do not condone."
On New Year’s Day, Miroslav posted a series of inflammatory messages on his Instagram Stories, which he subsequently deleted but not before they were widely circulated. In one post, he wrote, "It is the duty of every Ukrainian to kill a TCK representative, regardless of their attire. We should not seek ‘good Russians’ any more than we should seek ‘good TCK’.” Another post simply read, "Death to TCK."
Following the backlash, Miroslav published a video on Instagram, claiming that his posts were a result of "fear" and that he had "panicked." He apologized to the TCK representatives and the police, asserting that his statements did not reflect his true beliefs. However, his initial posts have raised concerns and sparked controversy among his followers and the public.
This incident serves as a reminder of the power and responsibility that comes with influencer status, especially in times of conflict. As events unfold in Ukraine, public figures are urged to exercise caution and mindfulness in their public communications.
