Ukraine’s drone prowess has taken a significant leap, with its unmanned aerial vehicles now capable of reaching distances up to 2,000 kilometers, revealed a representative of the Main Intelligence Directorate (GUR) of Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense. In an interview with "Noviini.LIVE", the GUR representative, Andriy Yusov, confirmed this strategic advancement, though he refrained from commenting on specific incidents involving drone operations across the border.

"The potential of our long-range drones is such that they can hypothetically operate on distances up to 2,000 kilometers," Yusov disclosed, without explicitly confirming or refuting involvement in recent events on Russian territory. However, he hinted at the purpose behind these drone strikes, stating, "What we can say for certain is that when something explodes there, it’s not by chance."

Yusov clarified that all Ukrainian drone attacks target military infrastructure, including facilities tied to the Russian army, its funding, logistics, or defense systems. This tactical restraint starkly contrasts with Russia’s targeted strikes on civilian infrastructure in Ukraine.

This announcement comes on the heels of several successful drone operations by Ukraine:

  • On November 6, GUR drones struck Russian ships in the Caspian Sea, some 1,500 kilometers away, marking the first such operation.
  • In May, a GUR drone traveled over 1,800 kilometers to target a Russian "Voronezh-M" radar station in Orsk, Orenburg region.

While Yusov’s revelations suggest a substantial range increase for Ukrainian drones, he stressed that most details remain classified. Despite this, his words underscore Ukraine’szburg commitment to shaping the war’s narrative through precise, strategic drone strikes.
