Kuwait City: In a significant move aimed at streamlining its citizenship procedures, Kuwait has revoked 2,876 identities. This action, aligns with ongoing nationality regulation procedures and has culminated in formal recognition of individuals’ Kuwaiti citizenship.
Cumulatively, the revocation included 13 men’s and 2,863 women’s nationalities, marking a symbolic stride in enforcing Kuwaiti laws. Addressing this decision, His Excellency Minister Sheikh Fahd Yousef As-Sabbah, heading the Supreme Committee, emphasized adherence to the provisions outlined in Kuwait’s nationality regulations.
The cabinet, in endorsement, has validated this decision, paving the way for its legislative enforcement. Predating this to the 1959, the framework governing Kuwait’s nationality laws provided the foundation of this recent legal development. The 1959 nationality decree, officially annulled in 1982, has stood as the blueprint for adjusting the status and responsibilities of national citizens. As such, this significant stride underscores Kuwait’s dedicated pursuit of its nationality laws alignment, ensuring unity, integrity and consistency within the country’s administrative system.
