Student of Provincial Education University (UPI) Found Dead in Campus Gymnasium

BANDUNG, KOMPAS.TV — Shocking news has emerged from the Provincial Education University (UPI) as a student, initials AM (21), was discovered deceased at the university’s gymnasium on Jalan Setiabudi, Sukasari District, Bandung, on the afternoon of Thursday, December 26, 2024.

Found in a Pool of Blood

According to Tribunnews.com, quoting eyewitness testimonies, the victim was found lying prone, in a pool of blood, with her head covered by a veil. The incident occurred at a time when many students were present, causing a stir within the academic community at UPI.

Prof. Suhendra, the head of UPI’s Public Relations, confirmed the incident, stating, "I’ve just coordinated with the UPTK3 team at UPI. The head of UPTK3 confirmed that there was indeed a UPI student who fell from the second floor of the gymnasium."

Discovery of the Body

The body of AM was first discovered by two students who were filming a basketball game around 3:00 PM WIB. They immediately informed the building manager and the authorities, leading to the arrival of police officers from the Sukasari Police Station at the scene.

Upon arrival, Police Chief of Sukasari AKP Ni Wayan confirmed the discovery of the body. "Indeed, a student’s body was found in the building. The body has since been taken to Sartika Asih Hospital," said Ni Wayan.

A team of investigators from the Bandung Metro Police also sprang into action, conducting on-site investigations and gathering evidence at the scene.

Suspected Fall from the Second Floor

Early indications suggest that the victim may have fallen from the second floor of the gymnasium. However, the exact cause of the incident remains under investigation.
