On Oct. 9, listeners at Vagonu Halle will experience a collaborative multidisciplinary performance by the Swedish percussion duo Duo Ictus, multimedia artist Leo Eltes, and the Latvian creative collective Trio Taraxum. The concert project, titled “Echoes of the surroundings,” combines acoustic, contemporary, and improvised percussion music with performative interactions and modified, projected visuals.
Artists drew inspiration for the Riga performance from Latvian landscapes, incorporating elements from both the natural environment and architecture. The core project is built by Stockholm-based Duo Ictus members Johannes Carlsson and Simon Sahlén alongside multimedia artist Leo Eltes. The creators previously developed “Echoes of the Coast,” a project dedicated to the Swedish west coast, before shifting their creative focus to Latvia.

Their repertoire centers on 21st-century music and new works, involving active collaboration with representatives from various art disciplines.
