Headline: Threatening Flyers Target Artists and Influencers in Sinaloa, Accusing Them of Ties to ‘Los Chapitos‘
Article:
In an alarming turn of events, flyers containing threatening messages and allegations of corruption were dropped from a plane over Sinaloa on Thursday evening, January 9. The flyers targeted local artists and influencers, accusing them of having ties to the criminal group known as ‘Los Chapitos.’
What the Flyers Say
The black-and-white flyers carry photographs of approximately 30 celebrities and influencers from the music and social media scene. They are labeled as "frontmen," "great financiers," close collaborators, and money launderers for a criminal organization. Notable figures include singer Peso Pluma and influencer Markitos Toys.
The text on the flyers begins with the phrase "Do you know them? Report them!" followed by a caution for the public to avoid supporting these influencers online, as it could indirectly aid the illegal activities of the group alleged to be behind the flyers.
Who the Flyers Implicate
The flyers name several individuals allegedly acting as fronts for ‘Los Chapitos,’ including:
- Kevin Castro, El Chivo
- Marcos Eduardo Castro Cárdenas, Markitos Toys
- Gail Castro, Gail Toys
- Carlos Arce, El Gordo Arce
- Alejandro Hurtado
- José Ismael, Conejo Toys
- Juan Carlos, El Chilango

- Adrián Antonio López
- Hassan Lalia, Peso Pluma

The flyers were distributed one day after armed men opened fire on and set ablaze the residence of Markitos Toys’ parents in Culiacán’s Antonio Nakayama neighborhood. In the incident, José María, known as ‘Chema,’ who was caring for the house, was kidnapped but later found safe and unharmed.
Violence Continues in Culiacán
On the same evening, gunfire was reported in several Culiacán neighborhoods, including Morelos and Prados del Sur. No casualties were immediately reported, but a 12-year-old boy named Alan was injured and risked losing a finger after being hit by a stray bullet while playing outside.
These recent events add to the ongoing violence and tension in Sinaloa, with citizens and authorities alike calling for increased security measures and investigations into the alleged collusion between influencers and criminal organizations.
