Bus Catches Fire at Walibi Holland Parking Lot; No Injuries Reported
A bus went up in flames on Monday afternoon at the parking lot of Walibi Holland in Biddinghuizen. Confirmed by bus operator EBS, the incident involved the Walibi Express, route 247 from Harderwijk to the attraction park. Fortunately, no one was injured.
The fire department received the call around 12:30 PM. While they are used to vehicle fires, "it’s not every day we’re called for a bus like this," a spokesperson said. Passengers on board the bus noticed warning lights flashing before smoke appeared. They alerted the driver who steered the bus to the roadside, ensuring everyone escaped safely.
The blaze was under control by approximately 1:30 PM. However, the cause remains unknown. EBS’ spokesperson noted that determining the exact cause may be challenging due to the extensive damage caused by the fire.
