Time News What members can be donated?

A donated member is the most valuable gift you can give to someone.

For thousands of people, the question of life or death depends on the generosity of the odd donor.

There are more than 119,000 people on the National Organ Transplant Foundation waiting list, and they need transplantation for many reasons.

But how will the donor be able to help them then?

This is a list of organs and tissues that we can donate, according to the US Department of Health and Human Services:

– Face and face:

Since 2014, deceased donors have been able to donate their faces and hands. Since 2005, more than 20 patients have had a partial or total face transplant worldwide and more than 85 have received a hand or arm. According to Johns Hopkins medical reports, for face transplantation, tissue and blood matching tests should be performed to match donor and recipient.

In addition, there is a strict emphasis on matching skin color, sex, race, and face size.

-Members:

The deceased donor can donate kidneys, liver, lungs, heart and pancreas. Donors can donate one kidney, one lung, or part of the liver, pancreas, or intestines.

-the eyes:

Two parts of the dead donor’s eyes can be donated to help someone who has had eye damage due to illness or injury, or due to a congenital defect.

– The first part is the cornea, the outer layer in the front of the eye that helps to focus the vision, and you can also donate solid, the outer white layer of the eyeball.

– Fabrics:

One donor can save 8 lives, but when you donate your tissue, the number increases to 50.

You can donate heart valves, skin, bone, veins, cartilage, tendons, ligaments, blood stem cells, cord blood, and bone marrow.

Healthy adults between the ages of 18 and 60 can donate bone marrow, cord blood stem cells, and peripheral blood stem cells.

Unlike donor cornea, which does not require matching between the recipient and the donor, the stem cell donor must have a precise match in tissue type or white blood antigen.

Blood and Platelets:

Blood and platelet donation is one of the easiest ways for a living donor to save lives.

People with good health are eligible to donate blood every 56 days and platelets every four weeks.
