Woman Dies of Heart Attack at "Bezbog" Hut in Pirin; Mountain Rescue Assists in Body Transportation
Mbaz, Bulgaria – Tragedy struck in the Pirin Mountains yesterday when a 50-year-old tourist from Samokov suffered a fatal heart attack at the "Bezbog" hut. The woman had spent the entire day in the mountains before her condition deteriorated overnight. Mountain rescue services were promptly notified and assisted in transporting the body to the "Gotsé Delchev" hut, where it was then handed over to healthcare authorities.
The "Gotsé Delchev" hut is accessible via an asphalt road, facilitating the transfer process. This unfortunate incident was one of three emergency rescue operations conducted by mountain rescue services in the country over the past 24 hours, as reported by bTV.
In a separate incident, a man experienced a heart attack in the Stara Planina mountain range above the village of Shipka. A team of six rescuers from the Kazanluk detachment was promptly dispatched to aid the man and transported him to join the urgent care team.
Meanwhile, the Sofia detachment of the mountain rescue service conducted an operation to assist two individuals in the Murgash shelter area. The duo, traveling on an ATV, found themselves in distress due to inadequate winter clothing and equipment. Mountain rescue teams sprang into action, safely transporting them to a secure location.
