Wizards of the Coast has priced its Festival in a Box: Atlanta 2026 release at $249.99, offering the first public release of Mystery Booster Commander Edition alongside convention-exclusive cards when preorders launch on October 19, 2026.
Mystery Booster Commander Edition Debuts for Collectors
Players looking to secure the new Mystery Booster Commander Edition booster box will find it bundled directly into the Atlanta convention package via direct-to-consumer preorder. While a draft event for the set took place earlier at Gen Con, this release marks the first time members of the general public can purchase the product outside of convention-floor seating.
The franchise, originally created by designer Richard Garfield with an initial release date of August 5, 1993, continues to evolve through specialty products. Announced previously at MagicCon Amsterdam, this power-packed release comes as part of broader shifts for the game, with huge changes coming to booster packs in 2027, including structure changes and the introduction of God packs. For collectors looking to organize their pulls, a flexible binder keeps the draft pool organized as you sort through it, such as the EVORETRO 9-Pocket Card Flex Binder. Buyers should plan early and avoid the common mistake of assuming this set will simply show up at a typical local game store the way most sets do, because secondary-market pricing on a genuinely limited-distribution product like this can move quickly once demand becomes clear.

Each display contains 24 booster packs, with each individual pack packed with 20 cards.
- Three white, three blue, three black, three red, and three green common or uncommon cards
- One reprint wildcard of any rarity
- One rare or mythic rare reprinted commander
- One new-to-Magic commander, split between non-foil at 95.25% and traditional foil at 4.75%
- One additional non-foil or traditional foil card
- One Future Sight frame card, split between common or uncommon (43.3% non-foil, 2% foil) and rare or mythic rare (52% non-foil, 2.4% foil)
- One traditional foil acorn-stamp card appearing at less than 1%
- One playtest card
Secret Gallery Features Foil Cards by Atlanta Artists
Beyond the booster display, the box includes the Secret Gallery: Atlanta Foil Edition, a Secret Lair drop featuring four foil cards illustrated by artists based in Atlanta. The drop contains Parallax Tide, Regrowth, Viridian Revel, and Assassin’s Trophy.
Debuting back in Nemesis, Parallax Tide is a brutal piece of land destruction. This uncommon is a slam-dunk inclusion in Ygra, Eater of All and Jolene, the Plunder Queen Commander decks that ensure your opponents will have artifacts going to the graveyard, or it functions as a decent hose card for Treasure decks, letting you draw lots of cards.

Promotional Cards Include Full-Art Textless Foils
The bundle also features four promotional cards, consisting of three full-art textless foils and one playtest card designed by Magic Head Designer Mark Rosewater. The promotional lineup includes Dance of the Dead, Tana, the Bloodsower, Tymna the Weaver, and the Auspicious Aquarium playtest card.
Dance of the Dead leads the promo lineup in non-foil reprint value at $15, helping add redundancy to Reanimator Commander decks. Given its massive wall of oracle text, it’s a rather hilarious choice for a textless promo, while also introducing the card in traditional foil for the first time for EDH collectors. Tymna the Weaver and Tana, the Bloodsower round out a package where the Secret Lair and promo cards make up around $50 in reprint value.

The Festival in a Box costs $249.99, marking a $50 increase over the price point used for the MagicCon Amsterdam offering. The cost adjustment aligns with the inclusion of the full Mystery Booster Commander Edition box instead of previous set variants.
