Colby Women’s Tennis: Building Momentum and NESCAC Aspirations

The Colby Women’s Tennis team is poised for a promising 2026 spring season, kicking off with a home match against Endicott College on March 1st. Coming off a successful fall tournament schedule, the Mules are looking to translate that performance into competitive results as they enter the head-to-head portion of their season.

Experienced Leadership and a Strong Core

Head Coach Erin Reeves expressed confidence in the team’s preparation, stating, “Colby Women’s Tennis is ready to roll!” The team benefits from the continued leadership of senior captains Amelie Gal and Isabella Suk. Notably, the Mules did not lose any players to graduation, retaining the entire roster from the previous year. This continuity is bolstered by the addition of three first-year players: Kat Lowy, Soumya Wijesekera, and Tina Barrow.

Challenging Schedule Ahead

The schedule doesn’t ease up after the opener. Following the match against Endicott, Colby will immediately face NESCAC opponents Hamilton and Amherst on the road. A subsequent match against Brandeis in Waltham, Massachusetts, precedes a spring break trip with matches scheduled in Georgia and South Carolina. The team aims to qualify for the NESCAC tournament for the fifth consecutive season.

Coaching Stability and Program Growth

Erin Reeves is entering her fourth spring season as head coach, supported by Devin Lachapelle, who joined the program in spring 2024. This coaching stability provides a solid foundation for continued program development.
