Russian Man Arrested for Spying, Transmits Sensitive Data to Ukrainian Intelligence

The Federal Security Service (FSB) of Russia confirmed his arrest and revealed details of the case in a video released to the public.
The suspect, a Russian citizen born in 1980, admitted during his interrogation that he had been recruited six months prior. He confessed to passing along coordinates of military facilities and photographs of cutting-edge weapons developed by Russia’s military-industrial complex. The intelligence was reportedly exchanged for monetary rewards.
According to the FSB’s Center for Public Relations, the suspect is believed to have established and maintained contact with representatives of Ukraine‘s foreign intelligence service. The detained individual has acknowledged his guilt and is cooperating with the investigation. The criminal case against him has been initiated under Article 275 of the Russian Criminal Code (high treason), which carries penalties ranging from imprisonment to life imprisonment.
