Vogelwaarde Crash: Wrong-Way Driver Injures One
Authorities in Vogelwaarde reported a collision between a passenger car and a delivery van on Saturday afternoon, leaving one person injured. The incident occurred near the Provincial Road (N290) – Rapenburg – Sasdijkweg roundabout around midday.
According to police, the collision happened when one of the involved vehicles entered the roundabout against the flow of traffic. A rapid responder team and an ambulance crew arrived at the scene, and the injured person was swiftly transported to Terneuzen hospital.
Preliminary investigations suggest that the car entered the roundabout from the wrong direction, possibly as a result of an evasive maneuver. The reckless driver’s car ended up in the ditch after the collision, while the other vehicle, the delivery van, came to a stop on the shoulder.
The roundabout was temporarily closed while emergency services and a towing company, Kuzee, attended to the situation. The road was fully reopened around 1:45 PM.
