Breaking: Biker Goes Against Traffic, Retaliates with Assault After Being Caught
In an unexpected turn of events, a motorcycle rider in Kebayoran Lama, South Jakarta, recently resorted to violence after being reprimanded for riding against traffic. The incident occurred on Jalan Fatmawati, Kebayoran Baru, Jakarta Selatan, around 02:00 WIB on Tuesday (7/1/2024).
The victim, a driver with the initials MA, was traveling in his car along Jalan Fatmawati towards Blok M when he encountered the errant motorcycle rider. As the victim rightfully objected to the rider’s reckless behavior, expecting them to correct their path, the situation escalated rather than improved.
Instead of heeding the warning, the motorcycle rider called upon their friends and proceeded to assault the victim using a golf club and wooden planks. The victim sustained injuries, including lacerations and bruising on his right hand and cuts on his head, front and back. He was subsequently rushed to a hospital.
The Jakarta Metropolitan Police are currently investigating the incident, with the motorcycle rider and their accomplices still at large. The motive behind this violent reaction remains unclear, but authorities are appealing to anyone with information to come forward.
Ade Ary Syam Indradi, Head of Public Relations at the Jakarta Metropolitan Police, attributed the assault to the rider’s unwillingness to accept criticism. He emphasized the importance of responsible road behavior and the serious consequences of taking offense at constructive criticism.
As the investigation continues, the victim is seeking justice and has filed a complaint with the Kebayoran Baru Police Station.
