Xbox CEO Asha Sharma Confirms Completion Reward Plans
For years, console players have asked for a special badge or reward to mark the exact moment a player unlocks every achievement in a single game over the years, there have constantly been calls from Xbox fans for a feature mirroring Sony’s Platinum Trophy. While previous leadership remained reluctant to adopt such a system, change is coming.
Xbox CEO Asha Sharma confirmed that the company is developing an achievement-related completion feature slated for release later in 2026. The confirmation arrived on social media in response to a user asking when you gonna solve the Platinum trophy equivalent with Achievements?

How Achievements and Gamerscore Work Now
Standard Xbox titles currently launch with a base total of 1,000 Gamerscore distributed across various milestones. However, players currently receive no separate badge, achievement, or digital trophy for finishing the entire list.
Sony automatically awards a Platinum trophy when a player unlocks every standard base-game trophy included at launch. The latest XBOX Insider Update added chat captures, cloud save restoration, expanded wishlists, and other changes, building on earlier visual redesigns to achievement tracking and the inclusion of achievements for backward-compatible classic titles.
Design Challenges and What Remains Unresolved
Microsoft has not yet revealed the official name, visual appearance, or precise completion requirements for the upcoming feature. One major design hurdle involves downloadable content and expansions. Because post-launch add-on packs frequently introduce new achievements, they often strip a game of its completed status until players buy and conquer the extra content.
Industry observers suggest Xbox could avoid this problem by granting the completion reward as soon as players earn the original 1,000 Gamerscore threshold. Alternatively, the platform holder could demand that users unlock every single available achievement, including those added post-launch. Microsoft plans to share further details before the feature arrives in 2026.
