Ukrainian IDPs to Receive Additional Compensation in 2025, but Funds May Not Cover All
In 2025, internally displaced persons (IDPs) in Ukraine may anticipate additional compensation for their destroyed homes under the e-Recovery program. However, not all IDPs will be able to access these funds, as resources are expected to fall short.
The government has allocated 15 billion Ukrainian hryvnias ($332 million USD) for IDP compensation, but committee chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada (Parliament), Ellen Shulaiak, revealed that these funds will not be sufficient to cater to everyone’s needs. She added that efforts are underway to identify additional resources, potentially using assets seized from Russia.
Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for compensation, individuals must:
- Be officially registered as IDPs
- Have a single, destroyed place of residence
The funding remains unchanged for other categories of citizens who are not IDPs.
Earlier, Dialog.UA reported that only those who resided in Ukraine for the past two years would be eligible for compensation. Additionally, IDPs from five regions have been promised free housing.
