Dominican President Abinader Travels to the U.S. for Family Holiday
Santo Domingo, December 24 – The Dominican Republic‘s President, Luis Abinader, will embark on a family trip to the United States on Wednesday, December 25, Christmas Day, to participate in family activities during the festive season. This was announced by the Presidency’s spokesperson and director of strategy and communication, Homero Figueroa.
Abinader’s departure is scheduled for December 25, while his return is set for December 30. During his absence, official activities will continue as normal, led by the Vice President or other relevant authorities.
Before Departure, Abinader Visits Puerto Plata for Post-Tropical Storm Assistance
On Christmas Eve (Nochebuena), Abinader traveled to Puerto Plata to assess the damage caused by recent heavy rains and floods, which have impacted thousands of families in the province. The President was accompanied by several ministers and other authorities, including Minister of the Presidency José Ignacio Paliza, Plan de Asistencia Social de la Presidencia director Yadira Henríquez, and Senator Ginette Bournigal, among others.
In Puerto Plata, Abinader met with local authorities and evaluated the situation firsthand. He ordered the allocation of funds to be distributed to affected municipalities and the deployment of relevant institutions from December 26 to restore normality in the affected communities.
