400 Entrepreneurs Gather for Bicol MSME Summit

Approximately 400 entrepreneurs and regional leaders gathered in Legazpi City on Wednesday for the 2026 Bicol Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise (MSME) Conference. Hosted by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Region V at the Marison Convention Center, the two-day event focuses on helping local businesses adapt to shifting market conditions, digital transformation, and sustainability requirements.

Conference Goals and Regional Resilience

The conference, themed “Navigating the Shift: Building Resilient and Future-Ready MSMEs,” aims to provide business owners with actionable tools for long-term growth. DTI-Bicol Regional Director Dindo Nabol described the event as a movement intended to empower entrepreneurs and guide them toward sustainable practices that secure prosperity for the Bicol region. The program includes a series of plenary sessions, workshops, and panel discussions centered on business continuity and innovation, according to the DTI.

Support Services and Agency Participation

To assist participating entrepreneurs, the DTI launched a One-Stop Service Lane at the venue. This initiative coordinates services from a wide array of government and private sector entities. Agencies providing support at the conference include the Food and Drug Administration, Small Business Corp., Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines, Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas, Government Service Insurance System, Land Bank of the Philippines, and PhilExport.

Beyond advisory services, the event serves as a platform for local commerce through a Shared Service Facility showcase and a Greening Lane Expo. These displays highlight digital solutions, homegrown brands, and sustainable products. As the conference concludes on Thursday, the DTI is expected to honor entrepreneurs who have contributed to local economic development. Additionally, the department will confer the Bagwis Seal of Excellence upon retail establishments that have successfully met fair trade and consumer protection standards.
