Due to an influx of visitors expected for New Year’s Eve fireworks displays, local authorities have implemented one-way traffic in Baarle-Nassau. This measure aims to efficiently manage vehicle flow and ensure safety for both residents and revelers.
Baarle-Nassau, a municipality in North Brabant, is anticipating a significant increase in visitors for the counting down to 2023. To accommodate this, traffic will be directed in one direction only on several key roads. This scheme, dubbed “eenrichtingsverkeer,” will be in effect from 19:00 on December 31st until 03:00 on January 1st.
“A well-managed traffic flow is crucial to ensure the safety and enjoyment of all those celebrating the New Year,” said a spokesperson for the municipality. “We urge everyone to plan their journeys accordingly and follow the signposts to avoid any inconvenience or delays.”
The following routes will be affected:
– Rood Uiltjestraat will be accessible from Tilburgseweg only.
– Molenstraat will be accessible from Markt only.
– Hoogstraat will be accessible from Rode Vaart only.
Public transportation will also be in operation later than usual to facilitate travel for those attending the fireworks displays. Trains and buses will run extended schedules, with details available on the 9292 ov9292 website.
Authorities remind everyone to drive carefully, follow traffic rules, and park considerately. Pedestrians are also asked to adhere to traffic regulations and cross roads safely.
