The Norwegian police have stepped up their preparedness at Oslo Airport in response to severe weather conditions. Strong winds, with gusts reaching up to 37 knots, have caused significant disruptions, with containers blown into aircraft and local roads becoming slippery.
Meteorologist Ingrid Bentsen confirms that the southeastern region of Norway has experienced some intense wind gusts. At Gardermoen, gusts were recorded at approximately 22 meters per second – enough to classify the weather as a ‘little storm’.
"For a while, it was quite unexpected, but it’s already starting to subside," Bentsen said. "The winds are the remnants of the weather system that affected Møre and Romsdal earlier today and last night."
