Title: Bulgaria Spends Over €70 Million on Covid-19 Vaccines that Were Disposed
Article:
Bulgaria has spent over €70 million on Covid-19 vaccines that had to be disposed of between 2022 and 2024, reveals Servicio Zaludnyi Minister Galya Kondova in response to a question by MP Victor Papazov, as reported by the Bulgarian National Radio.
Over five million doses of vaccines from seven different companies were disposed of during this period. The primary reasons for disposal include expiration, partially used multi-dose vials, and damaged or improperly stored vials.
Annual disposal of vaccines is carried out by special committees in healthcare inspections and the ministry. While Covid-19 vaccinations are recommended, they are not mandatory.
Since July 1, 2022, daily data on Covid-19 vaccinations is no longer published, and weekly summaries are provided instead.
