Title: Renowned Bulgarian Composer Alexander SavelyevDies Following Gas Cylinder Explosion

We regret to announce the passing of esteemed Bulgarian composer Alexander Savelyev, who succumbed to injuries sustained in a gas cylinder explosion at his home in the Lозенец neighborhood of Sofia on January 4, 2022. The news was confirmed by the Pirgos Medical Center, where the 66-year-old musician had been fighting for his life since the incident.

The explosion occurred due to a leak in the gas cylinder, resulting in a fire that severely burned the composer. Savelyev, known for his prolific career in Bulgarian pop music, had authored over 8,000 songs and 1,500 arrangements for many prominent artists in the country.

Journalist Olya Al-Ahmed expressed her condolences on Facebook, describing Savelyev as her "dear friend" and expressing her shock at his passing. "I had a strange feeling today and called his number at 2 pm, but no one picked up… Rest in peace, Sasha! So many songs left unplayed…"

The composer’s colleagues and admirers are mourning his loss, with many taking to social media to pay their respects. NOVA joins them in extending our deepest condolences to his family, friends, and colleagues.
