A gas explosion has rattled a Sofia neighborhood for the second day in a row, this time gutting an apartment on kullio Blagoev in the Lозенец district. The blast occurred at 4:44 PM, with emergency services arriving within 5 minutes.
The explosion, which took place within an apartment, left the entire residence devastated. Clear ―TV reports. witnesses described the blast as extremely powerful, shattering car windows on the street.
In the incident, a 17-year-old youth sustained minor abdominal injuries. He was evaluated on-site and remained at the location. His father was unharmed.
Yesterday, a similar incident occurred on the same street, leaving renowned composer Alexander Savelyev severely injured. A gas cylinder explosion set fire to his home, which then spread to a neighboring house.
Savelyev, extensively burned, was rushed to "Pirogov" Hospital, where he remains in critical condition. Once his condition improves, he will undergo surgery.
Residents and witnesses are advised to remain cautious and report any suspected gas leaks to authorities immediately. In Bulgaria, the emergency number for such cases is 112.
