The game will release in two distinct versions for players looking to jump into the besieged city of Gildenarch. The Standard Edition costs $19.99 USD and delivers the base experience across all supported platforms. Meanwhile, the Deluxe Edition is priced at 29.99 USD and includes the game alongside the Ceremonial Armor Set DLC, the Axe of the Gods weapon cosmetic, and access to an upcoming post-launch content expansion.
Pricing, Editions, and PlayStation 5 Enhancements
For players opting for Sony’s hardware, buying the game on the PS5 brings specific platform perks. According to the official PlayStation Blog, every player on PlayStation will receive the exclusive Sonai Magistrate Armor Set at launch regardless of whether they choose the Standard or Deluxe tier. Additionally, PlayStation 5 Pro owners can utilize native support for upgraded PSSR to sharpen visuals while exploring the blood-soaked streets.
Combat Design and Two-Player Cooperative Play
While solo players get a complete single-player experience, the studio designed the title to support two-player online co-op for every hunt in the game.
Rather than simply scaling enemy health bars, cooperative sessions dynamically adjust encounter difficulty and enemy composition while tying both players to a communal life pool. Partners can revive each other during intense battles, though each death brings the squad closer to mission failure. Between expeditions, players return to the headquarters of the Church to interact with NPCs, upgrade gear, and plot future missions at the War Table.
The audio direction leans heavily into extreme music genres. Composer Chris Wilson and music manager Steve Pardo teamed up with external metal musicians to score the game’s major boss fights, creating four original tracks in collaboration with the band HEALTH, Jared Dines, Misha Mansoor of Periphery, and Ricky Armellino of Ice Nine Kills.

“When I got invited to collaborate with the incredible team at ProbablyMonsters to help bring Crimson Moon to life, I was so honored. The game is an epic action RPG that brings gothic and classical elements together with heavy metal, and making these tracks was a blast. I can’t wait for players to hear them in the game next month.”

General Manager and Game Director David Lesperance emphasized that the studio deliberately aimed for an accessible entry point in an otherwise crowded September release calendar, which features major titles like The Blood of Dawnwalker arriving just days later.
“We’ve made Crimson Moon an intense action-adventure RPG that’s approachable to players. We want as many people as possible to enjoy it, and we priced it with that in mind. With our gothic-inspired art design, co-op support, and epic metal soundtrack, we’ve made something truly unique for gamers to experience this September.”
