Karoline Leavitt is leaving her post as White House press secretary after 18 months on the job, but she is staying firmly within the political orbit of President Donald Trump. Speaking aboard Air Force One while traveling to a campaign rally in South Carolina, Leavitt confirmed to reporters that she will return to work for the super PAC MAGA Inc., where she previously served as a spokesperson before joining the 2024 presidential campaign. MAGA Inc. did not immediately respond to a request for comment on Leavitt’s new role.

In an announcement posted to social media on August 12, she explained that balancing motherhood with the demanding role had become unsustainable. She noted in a post on X that her time as Press Secretary was the honour and adventure of a lifetime,
but after returning to work following her daughter’s birth, she realized she could not be the mother she wanted to be while continuing to devote the constant time, energy and attention
the Press Secretary’s job requires.
Senator Darline Graham alongside President Trump and Natalie Harp—where Trump supported Graham despite being briefly heckled by a man with a violent message on his shirt—Leavitt reflected on her departure. Speaking briefly in the press cabin before takeoff, Leavitt told reporters that she will miss the job but I love my kids even more.
Leavitt added that she and her family will remain in Washington for a while, telling reporters, You guys will still see me all the time.

Trump wrote in a Truth Social post that day that Leavitt was stepping down to spend more time with her beautiful young children and family.
The president added that Leavitt will now be one of my top outside advisors, and an influential voice within the Republican Party, as we work to defy History, and conclusively win the Midterm Elections.
In another post on Truth Social, Trump praised Leavitt’s performance, describing her as one of the best White House Press Secretaries in the History of the Office
and stating that she had been a leader in his administration and played an important role in his 2024 re-election campaign.

Karoline Leavitt’s Post-White House Job Revealed
While Leavitt did not specify what her new title will be at MAGA Inc., she told reporters that she will return to work for the super PAC. After leaving the press secretary role at the end of this month, she will take a short vacation in her home state of New Hampshire before returning to DC to start her new role. Leavitt told reporters that Friday’s flight to South Carolina for a rally supporting Sen. Darline Graham will be her last trip as press secretary, but that she’ll be back on board for the Republican National Committee’s midterm convention scheduled for September 9 and 10, traveling to Dallas in mid-September with a new title.
The search to replace Leavitt is ongoing and remains an “open book,” a senior administration official told The Post this week. Trump mused about possible candidates after lamenting the exit of his longtime press aide.
