Alidoro is marking its 40th anniversary on Tuesday, November 3, by handing out free Italian sandwiches to customers whose first names match seven specific menu items. The promotion coincides with National Sandwich Day and applies across five participating locations in New York City.
Seven Eligible Names and Variations at Alidoro
Qualifying guests receive their namesake sandwich alongside select nicknames and spelling variations. For Giovanni, both Gio and John are included; Michael and Angelo fall under Michelangelo; Matt and Matty are covered by Matthew; and Brandon is included with Brando. Daniela covers Danielle and Daniel, alternate spellings of Alyssa qualify, and Enzo completes the lineup.
Did You Know? Alidoro’s promotion celebrates the NYC-born shop’s 40th anniversary by giving preferential treatment to patrons who share their monikers with menu items.
What Each Name Orders on the Menu
Because a name dictates the order, customers should verify the ingredients. Giovannis receive roasted ham, provolone, shredded iceberg, fresh tomatoes, red onion, hot spread, and pesto cream, according to the Bryant Park menu. While the Matthew combines prosciutto alongside fresh mozzarella, arugula, and balsamic dressing, the Michelangelo is prepared with prosciutto, provolone, hot peppers, and arugula.
Turkey options include the Alyssa with smoked turkey, fresh mozzarella, arugula, and balsamic dressing, and the Brando featuring smoked turkey, provolone, sweet roasted peppers, and arugula. The Daniela brings tuna, fresh mozzarella, hot peppers, and arugula. Enzo orders pack hot soppressata, fresh mozzarella, hot peppers, red onion, arugula, and hot spread.
Participating Locations Across New York City
The November 3 giveaway takes place across five shops: 18 East 39th Street for Bryant Park; the concourse level of 1 Rockefeller Plaza for Rockefeller Center; 383 West 31st Street for Moynihan Train Hall; 601 Madison Avenue for The Hugh; and 23 East 23rd Street for One Madison. Customers are advised to check the eligible names before planning group lunches, as having a matching name does not automatically guarantee inclusion.
