Apple Discontinues iPhone, iPad and MacBook Models: What You Need to Know
Apple has quietly discontinued several older devices following the introduction of new products this week. A total of seven Apple products have been removed from sale as they are replaced by newer generations. These discontinued products span various categories, including iPhone, iPad, MacBook, and external displays.
This practice of phasing out older models with new releases is standard for Apple. Typically, the company removes older products to make room for updated versions offering improved specifications and features.
MacBook Pro M5 Storage Options Reduced
One notable change is within the MacBook Pro line. Apple has removed the 512GB storage option for the MacBook Pro M5, despite it being introduced just five months ago in October 2025. This means consumers now have to opt for a model with a minimum of 1TB of storage, increasing the starting price.
Other Discontinued Models
Beyond the relatively new MacBook Pro change, Apple has also stopped selling several products released around a year ago. These include the iPhone 16e, MacBook Air M4, MacBook Pro M4 Pro/M4 Max, and the iPad Air M3.
Generally, these discontinued products have successors with similar designs but enhanced specifications or hardware.
