Ukraine‘s Defense Minister Appoints Alexander Kubrakov as Unpaid Advisor
Article:
Ukraine’s Minister of Defense, Rustem Umerov, has appointed Alexander Kubrakov as an unpaid advisor. Kubrakov, a former Minister of Infrastructure and head of Ukravtodor, brings substantial experience to the role, which Umerov believes will significantly contribute to optimizing logistics and supply systems within the Ukrainian armed forces.
In a Facebook post, Umerov stated, "I’ve appointed Alexander Kubrakov as my advisor on a voluntary basis. His experience as Vice Prime Minister, Minister of Infrastructure, and head of Ukravtodor is invaluable and will help refine our military’s supply and logistics systems."
Kubrakov’s appointment comes after his dismissal from the position of Vice Prime Minister for Reintegrating Ukraine – Minister of Communities and Territories Development on May 9, 2024. Initially, his reappointment to the government was planned after the Ministry of Communities and Territories Development was reorganized.
In September 2024, the Verkhovna Rada appointed former Kyiv Oblast Governor and Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration, Oleksiy Kubrakov, as the Vice Prime Minister for Reintegrating – Minister for Communities and Territories Development.
