Breaking News: Armed Robbery in Luxury Residential Area, Former Official Injured
In a daring broad daylight heist, a man was targeted and shot at by assailants on a motorcycle after withdrawing cash from a bank in the upscale Jardines del Country neighborhood. The incident occurred Thursday afternoon, according to social media reports.
Sources indicate that upon arrival at the housing estate, the victim was ambushed, relieved of the amount withdrawn, and then fired upon. While initial reports did not reveal the victim’s identity or the sum stolen, subsequent information identified the victim as Mario Peralta Jiménez, a former regidor under ex-mayor Jesús Alí de la Torre.
Two suspects, both males wearing helmets, one in a black shirt and the other in gray, were seen fleeing the scene on a motorcycle. Photos of the suspects have been circulated on social media.
Local law enforcement was promptly dispatched to the scene, cordoning off the area and notifying the State Attorney General’s Office (FGE) to conduct investigations and remove the body. The incident is undergoing active investigation.
