Two Dead, 18 Injured as Plane Crashes into California Shopping Mall
At least two people died and 18 others were injured when a small plane–crash-south-korea-rcna185676″ title=”179 killed in plane crash at South Korean airport – NBC News”>plane crashed into a shopping mall in Fullerton, California, on Thursday afternoon. The crash sparked a fire inside the building.
"The crash happened around 2 p.m. local time (12 p.m. GMT) near the Fullerton Municipal Airport," authorities said. The airport is about 10 kilometers from Disneyland.
Images from local TV station KABC-TV showed a large hole in the roof of the shopping center and smoke billowing from the impact area.
Emergency services rushed to the scene to rescue those trapped inside and investigate the cause of the accident. The plane’s type and the identities of the victims were not immediately known.
