Manor Residents Urged to Shelter in Place as Search for Shooting Suspect Continues
Several areas in Manor are currently under a shelter-in-place notice as law enforcement continues to search for one suspect who remains at large following a series of shootings in Austin this weekend.
According to Manor Police, the shelter-in-place order affects the following locations:
- Ralph Ritchie and Suncrest Road
- North FM 973 Road near Suncrest Road and Tower Road
- Presidential Meadows Subdivision
- Greenbury Subdivision
- Stonewater Subdivision
The current notice follows a car chase involving Manor police and several other law enforcement agencies. The Austin Police Department has confirmed that two other suspects involved in the shootings are already in custody.
Investigation into Random Shootings
Police Chief Lisa Davis stated that authorities are investigating 10 shootings that occurred between late Saturday and Sunday. The incidents took place in various locations, primarily in South Austin and appear to be random in nature.

The violence has resulted in at least one person sustaining serious injuries, while three other individuals suffered minor injuries.
Suspect and Vehicle Descriptions
Law enforcement describes the suspects as males in their late teens. The group appeared to be utilizing multiple vehicles during the spree, including:
- A black or dark blue 2012 Hyundai Sonata (noted to have a broken right passenger window)
- A gold Hyundai sedan
- A silver Mazda four-door
- A white Kia Optima
Public Safety Warnings and Previous Alerts
Earlier Sunday afternoon, a similar shelter-in-place alert was issued for a large section of South Austin, bordered by Escarpment Boulevard, Ben White Boulevard, McKinney Falls Parkway, and Slaughter Lane. That alert has since been lifted.
Chief Davis highlighted a connection between the crimes and vehicle theft, urging the public to secure their property. “I want to remind people not to leave your cars unlocked,” Davis said. “What we are seeing is these cars are being stolen. Do not leave your keys or key fobs in the vehicle.”
Community Assistance and Rewards
Police are asking the community to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity. Information can be provided through the following channels:
- Aggravated Assault Unit: 512-974-5177
- Austin Crime Stoppers: 512-472-8477 or via austincrimestoppers.org (anonymous tips)
A reward of up to $1,000 is available for information that leads to an arrest.
Significance and Next Steps
The random nature of these attacks and the use of multiple stolen vehicles indicate a volatile situation that has spanned different jurisdictions. Because one suspect remains at large, residents in the identified Manor subdivisions may need to remain indoors until police clear the area.
The Austin Police Department has indicated it plans to share an update soon. Further developments could depend on the recovery of the remaining suspect and the identification of the stolen vehicles involved.
This is a developing story.
