Breaking: Austrian Airlines Plane Makes Emergency Landing in Burgas After Being Diverted from Varna Due to Adverse Weather
An Airbus aircraft operated by Austrian Airlines made an emergency landing at Burgas Airport on Wednesday, December 25, at 3:48 PM local time. The incident occurred after the plane was redirected from its scheduled destination of Varna due to inclement weather conditions in the northern Black Sea city.
The Austrian Airlines flight, which was operating on a regular route from Vienna to Varna, was initially due to land at Varna Airport at 3:36 PM. However, the plane was unable to do so due to the adverse weather conditions and was subsequently rerouted to Burgas Airport, where it performed a successful emergency landing.
The emergency landing was necessitated by the poor weather conditions in Varna, where it was reported to be dark with temperatures hovering around 39°F (4°C), and winds blowing at a speed of 17 mph (27 km/h).
The plane’s crew executed a standard procedural turn around Burgas Airport before successfully performing the emergency landing. There were no immediate reports of any casualties or injuries.
