PDIP Responds to MAKI‘s Call for Hasto Kristiyanto to Release Corruption Scandal Videos
JAKARTA – The Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-Perjuangan) has responded to the call by the Anti-Corruption Indonesia Society (MAKI) coordinator, Boyamin Saiman, for PDI-P‘s secretary-general, Hasto Kristiyanto, to promptly unveil corruption scandal videos implicating high-ranking officials.
Boyamin had previously urged Hasto, who was recently named a suspect in the Harun Masiku case, not to merely "stir the pot" with the videos but to release them to the public. PDI-P’s response was delivered by its DPP chairman, Guntur Romli.
"These are not mere spices, they’re an atomic bomb. Release them, and everyone goes down together," Guntur told Sindonews on Sunday, December 29, 2024. While acknowledging the gravity of the situation, Guntur refrained from specifying when the videos would be released, deferring to Hasto’s discretion.
Rumors had circulated that Hasto had compiled videos related to corruption scandals that could expose the involvement of high-ranking officials in these cases.
