Jail records from Collin County show the artist is facing three specific counts: driving while intoxicated, possession of marijuana under two ounces, and unlawful possession of a firearm. BBC Newsbeat confirmed the details of the stop, noting that Landum was on bail following an arrest on similar charges a year prior. Prior to the arrest, the rapper’s last social media update came in the early hours of Friday when he posted a short clip of himself driving his car on his Instagram Stories.

Parallels to Previous North Texas Legal Troubles
The August 2025 arrest occurred precisely one year after a prior detainment in Dallas. On August 21, 2025, police stopped Landum’s pickup truck near South Great Trinity Forest Way and U.S. 175 because it was missing a front license plate. During that 2025 stop, an officer asked Landum if he had a firearm, and Landum told officers he did and detailed where to find it in the truck. Law enforcement subsequently flagged him through a criminal database as connected to a gang in Arlington, which meant he was not legally allowed to possess a gun. Police stated they also found a small amount of marijuana in the truck.
That 2025 incident coincided with an album release party in Deep Ellum to celebrate his then-new album, I Hope You’re Happy, which included songs with artists such as Darius Rucker, Luke Combs, and others. At the time of that 2025 celebration, Landum was at the Cash Cow nightclub and was booked into Dallas County Jail on similar charges including unlawful possession of a firearm and possession of marijuana under 2 ounces. Public records indicate Landum also faced an arrest for marijuana possession in Arlington in February 2025, though that case was later dismissed.
