Amid growing concerns about a potential deterioration of the security situation in frontline areas, the Head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration (HOVA), Oleh Syniegubov, has reassured the public that preparedness measures are in place to handle any eventuality. In a recent interview on the national telethon "Єдині новини", Syniegubov detailed the region’s contingency plans and provided updates on ongoing evacuation efforts.

"Our region is ready to face a worsening situation," Syniegubov stated. "We have experience from past emergencies, such as the massive evacuations that took place in the northern regions earlier this year. We have reserved accommodation facilities and international partners stand ready to provide support and assistance. Our coordinating council, comprising over 250 volunteer organizations, is prepared to spring into action."

Presently, evacuation efforts continue from 344 settlements in the Kharkiv region. However, despite the persistent threat of shelling, many residents remain in areas deemed dangerous by authorities. Syniegubov highlighted the case of Kupyansk, where approximately 133 adults choose to stay despite the absence of children in the city.

"Local authorities, police, and volunteer organizations are working around the clock to organize and encourage evacuations," Syniegubov stressed. "Unfortunately, due to constant shelling and inadequate infrastructure, we cannot maintain essential services like heating, electricity, and water supply. The situation is increasingly untenable, and the only safe option is to relocate to safer areas."

It is imperative to note that Russia’s attempts to consolidate its positions in areas like Dvurechna pose threats to multiple sections of the region, as reported by Objectiv TV.

As the security situation evolves, officials reassure the public that all possible measures are being taken to ensure the safety and well-being of the region’s inhabitants. Stay tuned for further updates.
