Trump’s June Portfolio Reshuffle: Sells Meta, Buys Berkshire Hathaway

President Donald Trump disclosed just over 1,000 financial transitions for the month of June totaling between $78.1 million and $263.1 million, revealing what appears to be broad reshuffling of his portfolio that included heavy buying and selling of stocks, bonds, and exchange-traded funds, according to his latest filing on Aug. 22.

June Disclosures Reveal Multi-Million Dollar Portfolio Rotation

The filing, which shows a range for each sale or purchase rather than an exact figure, shows that Trump’s securities purchases topped $49 million while his sales totaled at least $28.5 million. While the records provide a window into the investment moves made on behalf of Trump, they do not offer a clear picture of total portfolio holdings or specific ownership quantities for individual securities.

Did you know? The filings only require Trump to disclose securities transactions over $1,000, though the filings show only broad dollar ranges rather than exact amounts bought or sold.

Major Equity Exits and Tech Sector Adjustments

Among the 1,051 total transactions, June 22 marked the highest-value deal: a disposition of Vanguard Dividend Appreciation Index Fund ETF shares ranging from $5 million to $25 million. Acquisitions on that same day included between $1 million and $5 million placed into both Home Depot and Fidelity National Information Services.

Earlier in the month, trading activity picked up following a broader market sell-off on concerns over the path of monetary policy. June 17 was the conclusion of Federal Reserve Chairman Kevin Warsh’s first meeting. Stocks bounced back on June 18. As markets bounced back on June 18, Trump sold between $1 million and $5 million worth of shares of both Meta and Motorola. At the exact same time during that day, he acquired identical valuation brackets of stock in Mastercard, Visa, Cintas, and Berkshire Hathaway.

Defense Contractor Trades and Cryptocurrency Activity

The portfolio adjustments also captured shifting positions in the defense sector and digital assets. On June 3, Trump entered and exited defense contractor Palantir Technologies by purchasing an amount between $1,001 and $15,000. He liquidated an amount between $15,001 and $50,000 on June 16, followed by another divestment valued between $500,001 and $1 million on June 18—the U.S. and Iran agreed to a peace deal on June 14. A small amount was bought again on June 23.

Two other defense companies, RTX and Northrop Grumman were also named in the president’s disclosure. On June 12, Trump acquired between $100,001 and $250,000 of RTX stock while parting with a $1,001 to $15,000 stake in Northrop Grumman. He then bought Northrop on June 23 and sold it again on June 24. He also bought and sold Coinbase throughout the month amid Bitcoin’s share decline. Between June 12 and June 23, he divested stock valued from $116,003 up to $315,000, followed by subsequent purchases ranging from $50,001 to $100,000 on June 24.

ETF and Bond Market Adjustments

Exchange-traded fund activity spanned multiple asset classes. Purchases in June include a number of ETFs, including the iShares U.S. Treasury Bond ETF, State Street Technology Select Sector SPDR ETF and the iShares GSCI Commodity Dynamic Roll Strategy ETF. Trump also purchased several municipal bonds. Acquisitions of the iShares GSCI Commodity Dynamic Roll Strategy ETF, State Street Technology Select Sector SPDR ETF, and iShares U.S. Treasury Bond ETF were logged among the president’s purchases. Those ETF transitions spanned just over $1 million to $5 million.

The White House did not immediately respond to a request for comment. Following disclosures regarding first-quarter activity, spokesman Davis Ingle informed CNBC in May that the president’s holdings remain placed inside a trust overseen by his offspring. “There are no conflicts of interest,” spokesman Davis Ingle said in the statement at the time. “President Trump only acts in the best interests of the American public — which is why they overwhelmingly re-elected him to this office, despite years of lies and false accusations against him and his businesses from the fake news media.”
