Bulgarian MPs Log Over 66,000 Kilometers in 36 Days: Who’s the Most Traveling?
In just 36 days since the start of the new parliament, Bulgarian MPs have clocked over 66,000 kilometers using cars provided by the National Assembly. A report by bTV reveals the top traveling legislators, with Elvan Gürykaş from the "DPS-New Beginning" group topping the list with 5094 kilometers.
Close behind is Yüksel Ahmed from the GERB-SDS group, who covered 5019 kilometers, representing the Silistra electoral district. Kostadin Kostadinov, leader of "Vazrazhdane," has traveled over 4100 kilometers, followed by GERB-SDS MP Maneol Manev with over 3900 kilometers.
Other MPs who have logged significant miles include Erten Anisova from "DPS-New Beginning" and Petar Knev from "BSP-United Left." Only 41 out of 240 MPs have used the provided service cars, with the rest opting for their personal vehicles.
The data raises questions about the efficiency of parliamentary work and the need for such extensive travel. As the new parliament continues, it will be interesting to see if travel patterns change and if the top travelers remain the same.
