Bus Driver Cooperating with Police After Fatal Crash on E10 in Hadsel
The driver of the bus that veered off the E10 highway in Hadsel, resulting in a fatal crash, has been questioned by police. This information was confirmed by the driver’s lawyer, Stig Mortensen, to NRK. Mortensen stated that his client has been cooperative, providing details about his perception of the incident during the questioning. He additionally expressed that the driver is understandably distraught but willing to cooperate with the ongoing investigation.
In the wake of this severe accident, which claimed the lives of three individuals, bus operator Boreal has established a crisis management team. The company has assured its cooperation in the investigation process, which will be led by police, with support from Statens vegvesen and the Accident Commission.
"The incident will be thoroughly investigated by police, with contributions from Statens vegvesen and the Accident Commission," said Jon Kristian Fadnes, Boreal’s communication chief. "Naturally, we will provide full cooperation in this process," he added.
The accident has deeply impacted the local community, with all services in the affected municipality standing in mourning. The investigation into the cause of the crash is now underway.
