In the Netherlands, the rules for transporting fireworks by car have been tightened. As of December 9, the Dutch Marechaussee (Border Police) has been conducting border controls to enforce these regulations.
The maximum weight of fireworks allowed in a vehicle is a strict 25 kilograms. Exceeding this limit can result in significant consequences, including being stopped by police and having your fireworks confiscated. Additionally, offenders could face substantial fines.
Given the increased focus on enforcing this rule, we asked the Marechaussee if they were paying extra attention to the transport of fireworks. However, they have not yet provided a response.
Dutch authorities are taking these regulations seriously, aiming to ensure public safety during the New Year’s celebrations. It’s crucial for drivers to be aware of these restrictions and adhere to them.
