Local Woman Arrested for Killing 57-Year-Old Man in Yambol
YAMBOL, Bulgaria — Local authorities have cracked a murder case involving a 57-year-old man, with a 25-year-old woman arrested as the primary suspect. The woman, identified as M.Š., has been detained for 72 hours following a prosecutorial order. The gruesome discovery was made late on January 2nd near the former military base "Cherven Bair" in northern Yambol, as reported by BTA News Agency.
The victim’s body was found during an operation based on a received tip-off. Subsequent investigations pointed to the crime having occurred in a bunker within the same area earlier that day. The victim, a man from Burgas with a nomadic lifestyle, had been living in Yambol for some time, police sources indicated. Authorities have since examined his contacts and the places he had frequented.
Local police arrested M.Š., a 25-year-old woman from Yambol, who was found to have been intimately involved with the victim. She was apprehended in Nova Zagora, where she had attempted to conceal herself. During interrogation, the suspect made a full confession, detailing the crime’s horrific details.
A post-mortem examination confirmed that the victim was killed with a knife wound to the throat. The Regional Prosecutor’s Office in Yambol is expected to seek a pre-trial detention order for M.Š., pending further investigation.
